We invite you to gather with students, faculty and alumni at the United Nations to celebrate the William and Elizabeth Kahane United Nations Program and to learn more about The Oxy Campaign For Good.

6:00 pm | Reception and Program at Millennium Hilton at One UN Plaza

Due to changes in United Nations operations, as many of you may have read in recent headlines, our reception venue has changed to the Millennium Hilton at One UN Plaza (directly across the street from the UN). Oxy representatives will be accompanying groups across the street to the reception.

Tours

Oxy will be hosting group tours of the U.N. at 5 p.m., one hour prior to the event. This private tour includes: the Security Council Chambers, the Delegates Artifacts Exhibits and the General Assembly Hall where you may take photos and participate in a short Q&A. Tours are led by professional U.N. tour directors and include the rich history of the U.N. mission over the years and how it is organized. Tours last approximately 30 minutes. All guests must indicate on their registration if they plan on attending a tour.

 




Steve Coll
Steve Coll ’80 is a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, former managing editor of the Washington Post, staff writer for The New Yorker, and dean and Henry R. Luce Professor of Journalism of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Steve will discuss his award-winning investigative journalism of the U.S. involvement in the Middle East, and how his Oxy education supported him throughout his career.

 

Bill Kahane
Bill Kahane ’70 is co-chair of The Oxy Campaign For Good and is CEO of Bellevue Capital. He and his wife Elizabeth endowed the Kahane United Nations Program in 2014, allowing generations of Oxy students to participate in the only residential undergraduate internship program with the U.N.
