Video Essays

In Professor Alison de Fren’s junior seminar, Annika vanSandt ’21 created this video essay on Japanese animated filmmaker Hayo Miyazaki, which was was featured in the student spotlight of The Video Essay Podcast Blog:

Desktop Documentaries

While studying remotely, students made "desktop documentaries," videos that incorporated the computer desktop as a way of thinking about an increasingly digital/virtual culture. Many students, such as Rowan Hoffman '22, used the opportunity to comment on life during the pandemic or the media they consumed while sheltering in place.

Original Student Films

In December 2020, President Harry Elam, Jr. hosted several virtual events across the country to engage with Oxy alumni and parents.
