Community is empowering. During The Oxy Campaign For Good, we celebrated 261,171 Tiger Connections—almost doubling our goal of 136,000. Connections took many forms, including on-campus gatherings for class reunions, online virtual events and meet-ups, off-campus events with local Tigers in their own community, welcoming new students and their families into the Oxy community, or serving as a volunteer in an alumni organization or affinity group.

The Impact of the Alumni and Parent Community
Continued engagement in the Oxy community allows for meaningful interactions between alumni, parents, students, faculty and staff.
Oxy Affinity Organizations
Generations of Oxy alumni have remained engaged through alumni affinity groups, such as the Occidental College Latino Alumni Association (OCLAA), the Black Alumni Organization (BAO) and the Asian-Pacific Islander group (API). Many other long-standing alumni groups continue to be active too, such as Alumni of Occidental in Education (ALOED), as well as new groups, like the LGBTQIA+ group.
Homecoming & Reunion
During the final year of the Campaign, the Oxy community came back in full force to celebrate Homecoming and Family Weekend and Alumni Reunion Weekend. Contributions from class reunion giving had a tremendous impact on student access and will collectively fund more than $1.2 million in endowed and annual student scholarships and financial aid.
Connecting Tigers Across the Country
Through new programs like Hometown Tiger Mixers—where current students gather with alumni in their hometowns over Winter Break—regional alumni activities and beloved traditions like the Summer Send-Off, where incoming students and families gather with local alumni and current students before move-in, Tigers from all over the country stay connected in different ways.
Enriching the Student Experience
The Hameetman Career Center’s annual Alumni-Student Networking Night, department events like Media Arts & Culture’s Cinematheque: Oxy Creates! Series and the annual Visible Hands Initiative panel—a collaboration between the Black Alumni Organization, the Economics department and student groups—link Oxy students with alumni across various academic and professional fields, fostering valuable connections.
